Who's behind DCS?
Well...me! I'm Alan, and I've been in the IT industry for over 25 years.
I began my career in the IT department of an AV Repair business, before moving on to a position servicing and repairing computers both on site and at customers homes for One Step Beyond, a much loved Norwich independent computer store who sadly closed down.
Fortunately for me, the PC part of the business was bought out by a well known Norwich department store and my position continued in a new home.
A few years later, it was decided that the PC Department wasn't pulling it's weight in terms of profitability, so that too was closed.
My skills were transferred off the shop floor and into the IT Department, where I added software development skills to my repertoire while also maintaining and upgrading the network infrastructure, tills and back office hardware.
I've now decided the time is right to venture out into this strange new world and go back to doing what I enjoy most - hands on work dealing directly with customers. It's a scary thing, going it alone...but as long as I aim to always do right by my customers, I hope it will be a risk worth taking.
